Objectives

We recognized the importance of regular strategic planning and that knowledge and skills for it was missing in youth organisations and in employees/members/volunteers. There are many NGOs from our communities that don’t have a clear strategic plan and there are some who have it but they are lengthy and hard-to-understand documents that mostly gather dust on office shelves. Working together on some previous Erasmus + projects with our partners, we discussed several times how important and empowering it is for the organization to have a live and meaningful direction to decisions, in order for our daily activities to have an impact on the local community. Some of our partners in this project already have Strategic plans, but as our environment constantly changes we need to rethink and redo them. Therefore, it was essential for all partner organizations to go through the Strategic planning process again, to rethink our visions and missions, our goals and projects in order to serve our communities and beneficiaries the best we can. As organizations, partners in this project, work closely together, it was important for us to go through this Strategic planning process together in order to support each other through this process, to work and grow together in the future and enhance cooperation between our organizations. The objectives of this project are to empower our members and youth workers, raising their knowledge and skills level in the field of Strategic planning; to produce during this project 5 Strategic planning documents, one for each of the partner organizations; to strengthen the partnership between our organization and produce new projects on a European level so we can continue to support each other, educate our youth workers and grow together. Objectives of the Training course (Activity 1) were: • To enhance cooperation between our youth workers and organizations • To improve our local and international teamwork by getting to know stages of group development and how to communicate in an assertive and effective way • To share info about our organizations, their visions, missions and values • To get to know the importance of the Strategic planning process and how and why it can benefit our organizations • To provide youth workers with practical tools of Strategic planning that they will be able to use in the future and which will contribute to their professional development and also to organizations’ development • To explore the Erasmus+ programme as a tool that can help to achieve the objectives of our Strategic planning • To reflect on the experience of the learning process using the Youthpass certificate and frame of 8 key competences. Objectives of the Evaluation meeting (Activity 2) were: • To get to know in detail about the process and results of local workshops which will lead participants of the TC for all relevant stakeholders in order to revise and produce final Strategic planning documents • To share challenges faced by different partners/participants in coordinating Local planning workshops • To share information about the impact that the Training course and the Local planning workshops have made on our participants and other youth workers, volunteers and coordinators in our organisations • To discuss the impact of the developed Strategic planning documents on our organizations • To develop recommendations for other NGOs when going through the Strategic planning.
