The purpose of the project is to encourage and support the participation of young people in the democratic life of the community with a focus on the contribution of youth to civic education for an inclusive society in which human rights will be respected and solidarity will be promoted, from the local, through the national to the European level. With this purpose, the goals of the project are related to the democratic participation of youth and the development of their civic competence, communication skills, media literacy and competence for participation in a democratic society of solidarity in which human rights and diversity are respected. Also, the project enables dialogue of youth with decision-makers, educational authorities, administration, and educators, as well as youth participation in the creation of educational policies. The project aims to encourage cooperation and exchange between young people, youth workers, education workers, public officials and decision makers, and cooperation in the local community. Through the project, the participation of young people in co-creating educational policy and promoting solidarity and inclusive school communities is supported. In addition to the basic goals of the project related to young people and their development of competences and the level of democratic participation, the project additionally aims to improve the quality of the implementation of civic education and the quality of youth work in Croatia. The added value of this project is that it builds on the good practice set by the pilot project Civic education for a better society, which was implemented by the Human Rights House Zagreb, Gong, VCOS and V.U.K. and this project expands the dialogue of young people with decision-makers in actual times and to new geographical areas. In addition, this project had a stronger focus on the insufficiently present dimensions of inclusion, equality, and solidarity in school curricula.
