Objectives

We wanted to develop a digital education platform with e-learning modules and digital tools for one of the sectors that suffered more during the COVID crisis. We developed modules for financial literacy, business planning, funding options, and online marketing for the cultural and creative sector and provided free access to all people who need this knowledge to be more resilient and boost their digital skills and capacities. We wanted to develop e-learning modules in cooperation with people who belong to this sector and know their problems and main challenges in order to achieve accessible and usable e-learning materials that will be useful in both countries. Also, we wanted to build cooperation among our organizations and strengthen capacities in using digital tools for project management and digital education. Also, the green element was very important so we decided to create all materials in digital form. This was the first project of this kind for both organizations so we wanted to learn how to manage and implement fully digital projects.

Background

Creative professionals (freelancers), students and people employed in the creative industries even before the COVID-19 pandemic had problems with management, funding, and marketing training activities. During the pandemic, these problems were accelerated as a result of the above shortcomings. The project responded to the needs of people from the cultural and creative sector, whose ability to perform or sell their was prevented or significantly reduced due to the COVID-19 crisis. Based on the research conducted by CREA, it was established that the sector lacks the knowledge and skills necessary for running a business or acting as freelancers in the market in the area of basic financial literacy, information on sources of financing at the local, national or EU level, and especially business planning and internet marketing. Therefore, it was decided to develop 4 e-learning modules in the project, which are available free of charge to all interested participants, in order to strengthen their economic position and facilitate access to funding sources. At the same time, we wanted to raise the capacities of both involved organizations in the use of digital tools and the creation of e-learning educational programs.
