Objectives

It is expected that students will be more motivated to learn mathematics. We wanted the students to improve their knowledge of the English language. We wanted them to improve their presentation skills and learn to work in a team. Students met their peers from other countries and learned about their culture and customs. Students are expected to improve cooperation in different age groups and multicultural groups. We wanted students to change their perception of mathematics as a difficult and inaccessible science. Students should have understood that mathematics is used everywhere. The students saw the importance of education. We wanted them to use information and communication technologies more. Students became more open. Students are expected to be willing to take on challenges. We wanted to provide economically and socially disadvantaged students with equal opportunities to participate in activities.

Background

According to SWOT analysis, all schools had a problem with low student's rate in Mathematics skills and majority of the students were in some sort of disadvantaged status. Also analyse of the European Comission's „PISA 2019 and EU (Striving for social fairness through education)“ (Dec, 2019) in which it was seen: Underachievement rate in mathematics, 2018 [%]: Poland 15%, Czech Republic 20%, Croatia 31%. It was necessary to motivate students to learn mathematics and offer them interesting ways of learning that include ICT, but also tasks that arise from everyday life situations. Due to the insufficient knowledge of teachers about how to plan to use digital tools during online classes, there was a poor realization of educational outcomes in all three schools. There were gaps in knowledge that we identified and then improved the learning and teaching of mathematics in the three partner schools.
