Objectives

Our main goal was to define the key needs of young people with fewer opportunities in order to facilitate their access to the labor market and increase competitiveness. By conducting activities with young people, we tried to empower them and point out their existing qualities, and then involve them in the process of designing and evaluating topics and content for the web platform that are permanently available to them in all partner languages. We also encouraged young people to exchange contacts and thus create support networks at the national and international level that will serve to encourage each other and share opportunities for participation and potential employment. Among ourselves, we tried to mobilize additional help that young people will be able to seek at any time, which, along with interactive content on the platform, will provide them with motivation for further educational and business development. We decided to create the contents in such a way as to enable young people to discover the desired business orientation or at least eliminate occupations they do not want to deal with. Our goals were to motivate and encourage young people to become more actively involved in society and successfully enter the labor market.

Background

We applied for the project because, through surveys conducted on a sample of 50 young people, we noticed their dissatisfaction, especially those with fewer opportunities who face challenges when choosing a job or continuing education after the interruption or completion of secondary education. We also noticed that the resources that should help them in their personal and professional orientation are mostly based on one or the other area. In this sense, the goal of our project was to promote mobility, cooperation, quality, inclusiveness, fairness, excellence and creativity among young people, as well as active participation in society, removing the obstacles they face. Researching the available resources, we saw that there is a need for a web platform that will be easy to navigate and will be based on content that is really important and useful for young people to acquire basic skills and get an insight into what awaits them in the workplace. We achieved this by conducting focus groups and workshops in partner countries in order to individualize the needs identified in advance and finally confirm them on a representative sample of young people. The young people involved had numerous proposals and suggestions for the content.
