Objectives

First objective of our project was to provide National working groups members and other stakeholders as well as decision makers, on all levels from local to European with existing knowledge on implementation of the Youth Goals. First objective was focused on the “what” while the second was looking to answer the question “how”. Our second objective was to support and encourage meaningful youth participation by providing participation tools gathered in one place. By developing 4 training curriculas, our third objective was to create all the necessary preparation work for any youth organisation or institution to transfer the knowledge of both implementation and youth participation in regard to the Youth Goals. Therefore, the overall aim of KA2 „How to score a Youth goal“ project was to foster youth engagement and youth participation by mapping the implementation of European Youth Goals in European and national policy contexts, identifying participation methods and creating training curricula for practitioners and policy makers to transfer this knowledge into practice.

Background

The overall aim of this project was to foster youth engagement and youth participation by mapping the implementation of European Youth Goals in European and national policy contexts, identifying participation methods and creating training curricula for practitioners and policy makers to transfer this knowledge into practice, knowing that this link between research, policy and practice will contribute to the successful implementation of the European Youth Strategy (2019-2027). By choosing the European Youth Goals (EYGs) as the overarching framework of the project we are responding to the wants and needs of almost 50.000 young people who actively contributed to their creation. The partner consortium of this project includes 4 national youth councils that have had the role of coordinator of the European Youth Dialogue process in their countries, and what each partner noticed within its national and European context is that the weakest point of the EUYD process is its implementation. As EYGs are one of the outcomes of the EUYD process, we wanted to accelerate their implementation through our project objectives. As National youth councils we all gathered member organisations that are active on local and or regional level.
