Objectives

In addition to the development of methodological and ICT competences, the project aimed to promote cultural renewal, EU citizenship, the problem of sustainable development and to raise awareness of the problem among students. Within the ICT framework, we felt it was important not only to learn about and start using new platforms, but also to get to know the dangers of the Internet and how to use it correctly, and to communicate it to our students. We also wanted to enhance European identity and language development with every mobility because it is true even for language teachers that a language has to be constantly developed, as all languages change, and we have to keep track of this change. It was equally essential to raise awareness of the importance of lifelong learning among our colleagues and students.

Background

Although our institution, the Petőfi Sándor Lutheran Kindergarten, Primary School, Secondary Grammar School and Technical School in Kiskőrös is the largest educational institution in our small town, there is still a big competition for students, especially in the secondary school, as we have to compete not only with the other technical school in the town, but also with similar schools in the surrounding settlements. The aim of the project was to renew the methodology of our teachers, to get them acquainted with new tools and to make them more motivated. Our intention was to ensure that this revitalisation was not only felt by the students in the school, but also by their parents and teachers in the surrounding schools through dissemination. In the project, we have put a lot of emphasis on raising awareness of sustainability issues and strengthening European identity, which are very important questions in Hungary today. In addition to secondary school teachers, primary school teachers, class teachers and our school minister were also involved in the mobility so that our results could be widely shared with the staff of our institution.
