Objectives

Our goal was to develop the students' foreign language communicative skills, using creative, cooperative, problem-solving, activity-based methods, and for our students to work together with students from other European schools in interdisciplinary mobility and online activities, so they actively use their language skills, get a glimpse of the culture of another European country, and strengthen their cultural sensitivity, expand their world view. To develop their foreign language skills, we wanted to learn about new, activity-based methods and digital tools. We planned to study the project-based STEAM and PBE methods for teaching science subjects at the theoretical and practical level in the Italian and Spanish partner schools. We also planned to expand our online toolkit that we have used so far. In order to motivate students more effectively, it is essential to strengthen the 4K basic skills in them as an active part of the learning process, to record their knowledge through experience, which is essential in today's world, including in the labor market by adapting new innovative methods. The goal was to expand the school's international network, to enable further collaborations to implement the school's accreditation project.

Background

Our primary school provides basic education for students aged 6-14 whose motivation, learning, behavior, integration skills and social background vary widely. The common goal of our school's innovative teachers is for our students to achieve the highest possible development compared to themselves. We work on a number of projects with which, with the students' active participation, we strengthen knowledge, moral values and skills such as responsibility for their natural and social environment, entrepreneurship, need for charity, tolerance, mutual acceptance, openness to other cultures, inclusion. Choosing a career is a big challenge for both students and parents, for which the primary school must provide all support by providing stable basic skills, knowledge and social competence. Our goal is to prepare students for life-long learning and to be able to adapt to changes in society and the labor market. It has become necessary to adapt new, innovative, activity-based teaching methods in addition to the students' foreign language expressive skills, to develop their natural science knowledge and social skills.
