It was important for our institution to give our students professional experience. Our computer science students learn database management and programming language, our nursing students learn new nursing techniques and diagnostic machines, and our teachers gain skills in child care and education. It was important for them to improve their technical knowledge and foreign language communication skills, to raise the school's profile, to expand our international contacts, to develop the language skills of our students and the professional and linguistic skills of our accompanying teachers. Our aim was to familiarise the participants with the organisational structure, equipment and staff of other European companies and public institutions, and to give them an idea of the qualifications required to do the job. They can compare their work experience abroad with training places in their home country, and compare their conditions, working conditions, staff attitudes and morale with those at home. We hoped that our students would become more socially aware and open-minded after the project. Our aim was to develop professional contacts between teachers and to build long-term working relationships.
Alongside the informatics degree, our students are studying to become practising nurses, where the aim is to provide a solid, broad foundation of knowledge and to become well-trained professionals who are much needed in healthcare institutions. The pedagogical training focuses on training professionals who will manage and assist the care and education of the growing generation. The theoretical training is closely linked to the practical application of the knowledge acquired and the cultivation of the premontrian traditions and transmission of moral standards. We attach importance to building international relations. We want to ensure that our graduates gain international experience during their studies and thus enrich their careers with new opportunities. It is also important for us to learn new professional technologies that we can later incorporate into our teaching. We have already had a successful project in 2020, and we are looking forward to developing new skills and knowledge that we can use in the future. The implementation of this project was greatly influenced by the situation caused by the Covid epidemic. We had more limited possibilities. We hoped the future project would provide even more opportunities for our students.
