Objectives

We want to strengthen our domestic and international position, to become an outstanding and attractive institution in Gyöngyös and its region among students and parents. We also aimed to develop a successful marketing strategy. Our aim is to broaden the spectrum of internships within the six partner countries, especially for students studying tourism. The project in Finland has been the most successful in this respect, as the tourism students have been placed in a new work placement at the SpaHotel Casino in Savonlinna. This four-star hotel assigned the Hungarian students to the wellness department for an internship, which was not unknown to them, since they were already able to experience the services of the Heves county wellness staff within the framework of an external internship at home.

Background

With almost seven decades of history, our institution is a leading educational institution in the Central Hungary region. From September 1, 2012, our sponsor is the Hungarian Maltese Charities School Foundation. Recently, we were ranked third among the ten best foundation vocational schools. Commercial and catering training has been taking place in Gyöngyös since 1954, and we are one of the most dynamically developing schools in the region. Possible professions: commercial salesperson, confectioner, cook, tourist technician, or high school graduation. The present application sector includes tourism and hospitality. Our chosen topic, which was related to the study of sustainability, green gastro-tourism and waste-free farming, was based on the observations made in our six partner countries, so it was fully in line with the goals of the program. Our partner schools are from different regions of Europe, such as Finland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria and Poland, so there was an opportunity to compare the work diaries of the returning students, to get to know and summarize the results of the project based on the given criteria. It turned out: each country had a specific attitude towards sustainable tourism and environmentally friendly
