In the light of our previous results we were hopeful that the realization of the practice contributes favorably to evaluating our school and cooperation strengthens within the staff. Students gained extra information, broadened their perspective and international relationships. We wanted to establish needs, develop qualities and skills which leads to self-education so life-long learning can become a life project. We believe: „ Making yourself employable is a big part of getting a job you want – good qualifications are only half the answer…the other half is good experience, especially experience of working in a new culture and country!” An important factor of employment is experience acquired abroad. Without work experience it is harder to find employment, but work experience can be gained only on the job market. The work placements provided by our partner institution gives the students something different than what they would learn in Hungary which we consider one of the most important added values in this project.
SZIKSZI as a secondary grammar school of economics aims to develop students’ economical attitude, transmits up-to-date knowledge in economics, strengthens international, national and social unity. Our main goal is to provide our students with an overall picture of the world of work considering their age and opportunities. As we state in our Vocational Program: “Our aim is that having adjusted to the age of our students, to the individual aptitudes and to our environmental opportunities, we wish to present an overall picture about the world of work. We are planning to deliver the knowledge, to formulate the need and to develop the skills, abilities and characteristics that lead to self-development deriving from inner motifs during which lifelong learning might become a program for life.” We were among the first to join LdV and Erasmus programs and in the past 20years we have accomplished plenty of projects. As a result, we are convinced to keep looking into ways to ensure internship opportunities for our students, because we can all benefit from them.
