The Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences, recognising the key role of internationalisation, carries out a number of cross-border activities. For many years, we have given priority to expanding our contacts in Europe and beyond, strengthening our cooperation with foreign universities and joining scholarship programmes supported by the state. With partner institutions abroad in almost all Erasmus+ programme countries, MATE students and staff are able to acquire and pass on knowledge that meets the requirements of a globalising world. One of the pillars of MATE’s internationalisation strategy is the principles and priorities set out in the Erasmus+ programme, as announced by the European Commission. Our University seeks to contribute to high employment and productivity in the EU Member States, to the peaceful coexistence of cultures, and to social cohesion by taking advantage of the mobility opportunities provided by the programme. In line with the government’s vision, MATE aims to become a centre for agriculture in Central and Eastern Europe, recognised in international agricultural research and with graduates who are competitive in the European and global labour market.
