We, young people from four countries (Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine), who live mainly in economically disadvantaged rural regions, would have liked to implement an exchange program entitled “Kreatív Zöld Gazda(g)ságunk”/”Our Creative Green Economy”in order to learn the approach by which we could consciously plan for the future by starting businesses and taking care of the sustainability of our environment. Using non-formal and informal learning methods, by learning and collaborating with each other, we created an intercultural collection called “Creative Green Brochure”, which represents a number of values: it is based on environmental friendliness, active participation and need, containing European and local values, helping young people create jobs and providing opportunities for our professional future and also draws attention to sustainability. It was important to enable many disadvantaged young people to take part in an active social inclusion program where participants jointly planned, jointly implemented and jointly evaluated and promoted their work. The main target of our project was to process the digitization-based „creative economical view” by seeing it’s potential, improving our initiative, respect sustainability and increase our motivation. During the program, we aimed to develop a number of key competencies. With entrepreneurial competence, we wanted to improve the initiative and responsibility of young people and encourage them to strive for innovation. We got to know better the jobs that could be linked to the “creative economy”, especially “green” ones, and were aware of the opportunities that come with this. We also wanted to improve our entrepreneurship. The development of digital competence got a special role in our program, as we used many IT tools. We also had a special digital day. The development of this competence was based on the common needs of young people assessed in advance every day. By developing scientific competence, they are now able to act locally and think globally in an environmentally friendly and practical way to achieve individual and community goals. Due to the topic, competencies related to technology and technical sciences were also greatly developed, as the "Fix it, recycle it!" slogan was at the heart of the work. In terms of personal, social and civic competences, young people had the opportunity to try themselves in an intercultural environment that allowed them to learn about and embrace different cultures that helped to promote the integration of the individual into communities. Learning to learn had a high priority. After using project and group work as well as the “peer learning” method, our goal was to enable young people to apply the new knowledge and skills later on at home, in education, in the workplace and in a business. Non-formal tasks also strengthened the competence of writing, mathematics, as well as cultural awareness and expression. Multilingual competence also appeared, as in the case of many programs (learning competencies, songwriting, etc.) we also paid attention to the practice of several languages.
