EduGaming! was established by the cross-cultural partnership in order to tackle the issues identified during their day-today work with their peer youth organisations: - Youth participation at local level remains weak in many European countries, especially in rural areas and secondary territories - Youth workers have only rare occasions to explore new youth work methodology and exchange with their peers about their daily youth work practices and realities - Formal education tends to come short in providing key competences for young people to become active citizens - Even though gaming methods and gamification has a huge potential, it is still very underdeveloped in these given fields The partnership sought to ease the problems of the youth sector by developing a comprehensive education programme, about the facilitation of gamification, a tailored and learner-oriented methodology, to develop key competences of young people, especially in regards to their active citizenship. The objectives were: -To qualify youth workers in gamified non-formal educational methods fostering key competences of young people -To explore gaming in education for youth empowerment, especially in view of fostering civic participation and social engagement of young people in Europe and in the Eastern Partnership region -To promote gaming for learning and stimulate international cooperation among youth organisations from the Eastern Partnership region and from the EU The project supported youth workers in applying gaming methodology in their daily youth work to enhance active citizenship, boost engagement and enthusiasm of learners, and promote international cooperation among youth organisations. Through the project, youth workers were able to develop new and innovative approaches to youth work and foster the key competencies of young people, contributing to the overall development of the youth sector.
