With the implementation of our project, we carried out a nationwide research to get a better understanding of the professionals involved in youth work in Hungary, the quality and content of their work. We wanted to assess their situation. This aim was unique in Hungary, as no research had been carried out so far that focused specifically on youth work practitioners. Our main intention was to find out about the identity and the needs and requirements of local youth workers. A clear understanding of these needs was essential for us to be able to provide adequate answers in the future and to contribute effectively to the development of youth work in municipalities. We also aimed to examine in depth the professional identity, motivation and self-evaluation of youth workers. This survey included both paid and voluntary professionals working in the field of youth work. An accurate assessment of the situation of youth workers is of particular importance as these factors have a direct impact on the effectiveness and quality of youth work. In addition, we also wanted to increase the visibility and recognition of youth work. Overall, our project aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of youth work in Hungary and to contribute to its development, taking into account the different needs and circumstances of the municipalities. In addition, in order to achieve the objectives of the project and to disseminate the questionnaire, we have developed a significant number and quality of partnerships between organisations in the sector and have contributed to making youth work more visible and better known.
