Objectives

We had 3 project objectives which have been achieved successfully: Objective 1. Developed framework of international mentorship program for young people lead by youth workers (mentors) having experience in specific field relevant for current labour market as well as non-formal education. Objective 2. Involved 63 young people from 6 countries in mentorship programme and increased their key competences relevant for labour market. Initial objective was to involve 32 young people from 4 partner countries but we received significant interest also outside partnership, thus having enough resources we involved more youth from 3 additional countries than initially anticipated. Objective 3. Created a systematic approach of integrating mentorship programme into NGOs work and continue operating and organizing mentorship programme after the end of project.

Background

The problem young people (key target group for this project) were facing was struggling to get employed after education, transition from education to employment, especially when it comes to more specialized jobs, requiring real-life experience. Their need was addressed by creating opportunity to learn from professionals in non-formal way, plan and execute their learning path, acquire/increase various competences and put them in practice by participating in mentorship programme and other non-formal activities, including international learning mobilities. Partners had a need to increase their capacity to work with unemployed youth, creating opportunities for young people to learn to change their situation for better which was done by developing mentorship programme, integrating it to their daily youth work practices and in general implementing this project.
