The primary objectives of our 2 projects were as follows; 1) I wanted to give our students an opportunity to learn about Physical Education in 2) Our Teachers attend CPD to learn but also importantly to share best practice on their teaching experiences and methodologies with like minded, passionate and professional European teachers.
St. Macartan's College is a progressive, inclusive, vibrant, caring and christian school with a long and proud tradition of service to the communities of North Monaghan and beyond. In our school we have a team of committed teachers & staff who are guided by our Mission Statement where we pledge to support & guide the holistic development and growth of each individual student so that he can realise his full potential and contribute positively to his community. Our teachers are leaders and role models for young men & that is why so many of our staff agreed to volunteer to engage in voluntary week long CPD in order to improve themselves. This holistic approach is supported by a very broad academic, artistic, technological and sporting curriculum that provides ongoing opportunities for personal, social, academic, behavioural and physical development on a continuous and incremental basis. With this as our mission we used this as the template for embarking on our exchange with a partner school in Belley, France whereby we focused on our students developing their language skills in an international language whilst also learning about Physical Education in another European country whilst also showcasing what we do here in our school.
