By implementing this project and supporting opportunities for students and staff to undertake a learning and/or professional experience in another country, Dublin City University (DCU) has contributed to the realisation of the university's strategic plan (2017 - 2022) 'Talent, Discovery and Transformation'. It is DCU’s ambition and vision “to develop a global university”. To enhance our global position, six key strategic objectives have been identified: i. become renowned as a vibrant, pluralist, multicultural, campus community. ii. deepen and enhance our strategic alliances and partnerships. iii. create a broad, diverse revenue base while managing compliance and risk. iv. boost the bi-directional mobility of our campus community. v. augment our curriculum with an international, intercultural character. vi. contribute to international development and the resolution of global problems. Three of the four pillars of the university's internationalisation strategy are directly related to this project, i.e. Partnerships, Mobility, and International Experience. DCU recognises the importance of providing students and staff with opportunities to participate internationally in a meaningful way through high-quality mobility activities.
