By learning more about documenting and reporting, we hope to be able to set up checklists, documenting sheets and work processes to use in the support services in schools, both within each school and between schools. Our previous experiences with the work at De Wijnberg have taught us the importance of having a good and visual work processes, to make the work coordinated around students from all of those who come into contact with them. In addition, we want to increase our knowledge of various types of teaching methods where the focus is on students' strengths and interests , e.g. in adventure and outdoor studies.
The participants of the project are support service employees of several elementary schools in Iceland with different professional backgrounds. Our projects in the primary school support services are multi-faceted and we wanted to further deepen our understanding of diverse teaching methods for students with emotional and behavioral problems, as well as learn even better about visual organization, recording and reporting. We had previously met De Wijnberg's operations in the Netherlands and formed a relationship with the staff there, and we wanted to learn more about their professional and coordinated work methods.
