The University of Iceland (UI) has been committed to adhering to all aspects of the ECHE and the full implementation of the Erasmus+ programme. The aim has been to respect in full the principles of non-discrimination, transparency, and inclusion as well as to ensure equal and equitable access and opportunities to current and prospective participants from all backgrounds, paying particular attention to the inclusion of those with fewer opportunities. We strive to ensure fully automatic recognition of the mobility for both students and staff with focus on the quality of mobilities, transparency, the promotion and support for mobility. With the implementation of the new Erasmus+ programme in 2021, the University of Iceland focused on increasing supports and encouraged international participation in all areas of higher education. This has included promoting the educational, professional, and personal development of students and staff strengthening intercultural participation and experience with the hope to cover pre-pandemic number of successfully completed mobilities and full implementation of the new Erasmus+ programme, including blended opportunities, providing international experience for all, at home or abroad.
