As part of this project, we wanted to achieve increased mobility of our staff and students. This would hopefully lead to stronger connections with the receiving institutions and create opportunities for future collaboration. During and recently after covid restrictions, it was difficult for students and staff to participate in mobility. However, we are now seeing an increase in interest and participation this year and the upcoming year. Hólar University is a small but growing rural university that offers graduate and undergraduate education. As the design of the undergraduate programs at our university are mostly for distance learners (with on-site visits during the year), most students have opted to not apply for exchange studies. We are planning to increase the visibility of the mobilities for all students, including those physically on-site and distance-learning, by raising awareness of potential coursework and exchanges with partner universities.
