The objectives pursued by the “EU.ORI” project were: - to enhance the technical and soft skills and professional orientation of students in the field of tourism and territorial marketing; - to strengthen the skills of the Institute's teachers in the use of teaching tools for career guidance and orientation and for the development of soft skills in learners, in particular through the acquisition of individualized and personalized teaching methodologies and for the structuring of job training courses oriented in the tourism marketing sector; - to increase the soft skills of students and the professional skills of teachers in the design of national and international PCTOs; - to enhance the interaction between the school and the local context, promoting the internationalization of provincial tourism marketing.
The “EU.ORI.- Orientati in Europa” project (code KA122-VET-2EB20F3E) was conceived and implemented by the Liceo Scientifico “P. S. Mancini” in Avellino to actively contribute to the economic development of the Irpinia area. This is characterized by high migratory rates of young people, despite the presence of many attractive elements from a natural, historical and cultural point of view and a strong food and wine vocation that could be a great boost to the local economy and represent among the main sources of employment of young people. The high school, aware of the tourist potential of the area and dedicated to the creation of training initiatives that meet its needs, has identified two main areas for improvement: - the increase of VET training aimed at young people in the tourism sector so that they are encouraged to contribute to the creation of an authentic tourist offer of Irpinia; - the enrichment of the preparation of the teaching staff in the VET field and in relation to the tourism sector so that the objectives of the teaching and the PCTOs activities proposed to the students are aligned with the priorities of the territory.
