The objectives that the IISS "E. Battaglini" has pursued and achieved with the project "V.EN.OS.A.", thanks to the in-mobility training of participating students and teachers and to the cooperation with foreign partners (the hosting companies and the host VET institution and the supporting organisations, Mobility Hub, FEM and ForMalta) were as follows: -To transmit learners in classes III and IV sound entrepreneurial skills suitable for entering the local labour market at the end of their studies; -To enable learners in classes III and IV to acquire specific skills in line with professional profile from the Regional Register of Qualifications, with EQF3; -To update the methodological skills of teachers in the professional areas of study to improve the learning environments of the School; -To improve the network of the IISS "E. Battaglini" with new European and regional companies for the development of the regional economic sectors of construction industry, environmental sustainability and biotechnology.
The “Ernesto Battaglini” Vocational School based in Venosa, Potenza, has implemented the project "V.EN.OS.A."- Vocational EducatioN abroad through mObilitieS Abroad" to start a process of internationalisation, innovation and improvement of the School, in response to new labour-market challenges such as globalisation, digital innovation and ecological transition, the widespread youth unemployment in the area (29.3% in 2022, ISTAT) and the issues related to the skill mismatch, which lead to difficulties in the transition to the labour market for the young students of the School (only 24.7% are employed within one year of graduation), especially in the biotechnology and environmental sustainability sectors, where it is difficult to find skilled workers. In response to these challenges, the project has therefore promoted the in-mobility training of students at innovative European companies for the acquisition of skills that can be useful for the labour market and the in-job shadowing training of teachers to improve and expand the teaching methodologies used to combat educational failure and early school leaving.
