"M.O.T.S." has 4 main objectives: -developing language and professional skills of students, relating to professional sectors in line with their curricula (administration and financial services, corporate marketing, information systems and tourism); -improving the skills of T.S. teachers, about planning on-the-job training programs and defining job-oriented objectives that would enhance students' attitudes and expectations and direct them towards professional choices; -improving the School's ability to evaluate the results of recent graduates and measure the contribution of the school Educational Offer to their professional growth and employability; -improving the ability to collaborate with other organizations to accelerate the internationalization and stimulate the process of innovation and continuous improvement of the Educational Offer towards greater alignment with the needs of the labor market.
"M.O.T.S. -School and job orientation in Tourism and Services." is a project implemented by "R. Piria" School, that is located in Reggio Calabria, an area with a high rate of youth unemployment (44.6%), 6.5% of foreign residents, and the presence of disadvantaged socio-economic conditions, worsened by COVID19 pandemic. This has also affected the already high levels of ESL, making the world of education face big challenges. The project was born to respond to some critical issues: - the need of enrichment and diversification of the VET offer provided by the school to bring young people closer to the world of work; - the lack of a network with a European dimension that would increase the training opportunities in an international and multicultural context, stimulating the acquisition of soft and strategic skills and professional figures for the development of tourism and services sectors; - the need for teaching staff to enhance their VET design skills; - the lack of an evaluation system of post-diploma choices and results which hinders the assessment of the effectiveness of the EO and its innovation to help the employability of recent graduates.
