We wanted to obtain greater awareness of eco-sustainability, gather information to share with our students to make them more aware, to acquire knowledge and skills useful to reduce the carbon footprint. We also wanted to increase the capacity to cooperate at international level in mutual exchange, improving the competences of staff and teachers towards new upskilling pathways
Our organization is a high school located in the city of Taranto, a city with significant environmental problems and social and economic marginalization that have dragged on for decades. Aware of this situation, our school strongly wanted to participate in this project in order to increase awareness among our teachers of the importance of the theme of eco-sustainability and its complex relationship with the more general problem of inequalities and social marginality. Our teachers are specialized in different areas such as digital technologies, journalism, psycology, sports, natural sciences, food science, economy, spanish and english. Our territory still has the scars of the steel industry so this project aimed to train our teachers on sustainable development for a sustainable future where the prerogative of economy and labor should live in harmony with the well-being of persons, communities and natural eco-systems.
