The project was designed to meet the needs of a group of young students from the city of Molfetta and its neighbours. The objectives were as follows: O1: Filling the gap in knowledge and practical skills as the demand grows in terms of services, tourism, commerce, etc. O2: Deeply improve language skills in view of a globalized market. Here we mean not only English, but especially multilingualism. O3: Develop entrepreneurial mindsets among students at a young age. O4: Create relationships with foreign companies where young people will go on an internship experience to network and transfer good practices in view of wider transnational future projects.
InCo is a third sector association that operates in the city of Molfetta, a rural area north of Bari. The association is engaged in partnership with local schools to offer mobility experiences abroad such as studying, volunteering, internships. InCo has deep experience in Erasmus Youth and EDA sector. As far as "VET" is concerned, it had approached this sector thanks to a series of former COSME projects, "Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs" and the European Solidarity Corps - strand for employment, the latter financed by ANPAL, for which we hosted some trainees from abroad in the period 2017-21. This project was aimed at young people aged 16 to 18 who intended to take advantage of a positive situation that the Puglia region has been experiencing in terms of tourism in recent years. The Molfetta area is out of the official tourist circuits and at the moment has been affected by the two crises COVID and Ukraine (price increase), so the opportunities for young people to find a job have decreased considerably in the last 2 years. Our internship abroad project is part of this framework of extreme social difficulty, representing a hope for many people.
