A transversal objective to the previous ones was to succeed in involving a greater percentage of students and teachers of the technical and professional courses, whose participation in European projects had always been somewhat limited. This is also one of the reasons why the institute chose to propose a VET project for the first time.
The I.I.S. "A. Volta" of Castel San Giovanni (PC) is a pole of excellence that guarantees a multifaceted educational offer consisting of high school, technical and professional courses. Since the cultural, social and economic background of the students is varied, the Institute offers diversified activities that provide equal opportunities and educational-inclusive opportunities. The student population is also characterised by a high percentage of foreign pupils; there are also BES pupils, who are supported with work integration paths. The area in which it is located is characterised by a varied economic context and it is difficult to find professionals with specific skills in the region. In this context, the institute pays attention to updating teachers' professional skills, laboratory innovation and training programmes to offer students and new graduates the opportunity to improve their professional skills and results at the end of the school year. In addition, the consolidation of the internationalisation process is considered an important tool to encourage the reduction of school drop-outs and the reorientation of pupils who intend to leave their education at the Institute.
