This project, which is part of the path of the school for the PCTO (Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation), combines the two guidelines of our school (inclusion and internationalization), and has given the opportunity to our students, who - most likely would not have had other chances to experience a period of training abroad. The objectives pursued with this project, therefore, are multiple: first, to allow students to learn more about themselves a and to learn from the comparison with others, to test their ability to adapt and to evaluate their skills, their progress and plans for the future. Secondly, to give students the opportunity to test their professional skills (gained during laboratory exercises or during work experiences) and improve them, thanks to the guidance of the tutors of the structures in which they worked. Last but not least, improve language skills and achieve greater self-confidence and ability to interact with customers from different backgrounds.
Our school is located in an area with a strong tourist vocation and is attended by students who aim to get a job in the food and wine and tourism sectors. Many of our students come from disadvantaged social or family backgrounds, so the mobility opportunities offered by the school are crucial to getting to know different cultures and working environments from those present in our region. This project was for most of the participants their first experience abroad, the first plane, the first opportunity to speak a foreign language with customers. Offering these opportunities for personal and professional growth to these young people is an important goal of our Institute, which aims to be increasingly inclusive and international.
