The overall objective of the project was to improve access to training for young mothers of quality, to implement their digital knowledge and transversal skills for new professions. The specific objectives were i) to create specific training courses for young mothers ii) to improve the training of trainers on inclusive digital pedagogy related to the use of digital tools.
As highlighted by "The lives of women and men in Europe in all European countries - Statistical portrait", a digital publication released by Eurostat in June 2020, young mothers represent a category of risk of poverty and social exclusion because they are exposed to a higher rate of unemployment than men, also in proportion to the number of children (the European employment rate for women without children is 67%, while with children it falls to 58%), lower wages, lower access to top positions in the companies (only 33% of executives in the EU in 2019 were women) and in part-time or low-quality jobs or who however, do not allow for an adequate balance between work and family life. One of the main obstacles entry/reintegration or development of a professional career in the labour market is the "deficit of skills" of young mothers in the areas of digital literacy and soft skills (The Future of Work: Legal, Social and Cultural Professions, 05/03/20, EURES).
