The TICHE project emerged from a comparison of European parters with great expertise on the topics of eco-innovation, the corcular economy, circular design, and sistenible development. Faced with an emerging need for green skills by economic actors in different sectors, the partnership worked over its 30-month duration to ensure the development and sharing, with a potentially unlimited number of stakeholders, of training offerings that could strengthen the responsiveness of VET systems in supporting the provision of tomorrow's professionals and workforce, qualified upskilling opportunities useful for the acquisition of knowledge and skills considered key in the double transition. The congruent efforts resulted in the co-design and piloting of the TICHE Academy, anticipating the current debate on circular economy, green jobs, green skills and also anticipating the Commission's very recent focus on sectoral and thematic academies for strengthening skills ecosystems.
The TICHE project was implemented to foster the development and consolidation of so-called "Green Skills," in entrepreneurs, workers, consultants, citizens and graduate students interested in pursuing professional careers in the newly emerging green occupations, in order to support the transition of economic systems to the green and circular economy and support, at the same time, the adaptation/innovation of VET systems and programmes, through the establishment of an international Academy for the Green Transition and Circular Economy.
