The DGI Tourism project is dedicated to enhancing the training courses offered by VET providers and trainers in the field of tourism. By incorporating digital, green, and innovative approaches, the project seeks to address the challenges posed by the global pandemic, the need for environmental conservation, and the imperative for climate action. Tourism, a major economic contributor and employer, experienced a significant downturn since March 2020 due to the pandemic's impact. In response to these multifaceted challenges, the DGI Tourism project aims to lead the transformation of the tourism industry into a more sustainable and environmentally conscious sector. The project's overarching objective is to drive sustainable development within the tourism sector by empowering VET trainers. Through strategic measures, the project aspires to create a lasting positive influence that transcends geographical boundaries, industry sectors, by shaping a new workforce (and upskilling Tourism professionals and SMEs) able to face the climate change challenges, digital transformations and deliver a touristic offer suitable for the travel needs of new generations like GenZ and Millenials.
