The general objective is to contribute, with effective methods and tools, to the development of a common EU system for managing the labour inclusion of third-country migrants legally residing in the EU, and to the development of the European culture of hospitality and solidarity, through the construction and testing of educational and intercultural practices, aimed at EU employers and migrants. In particular, specific objectives are: - identify and describe in a Handbook the paths and methods for the development of intercultural skills by employers of migrants - develop the intercultural skills of EU employers, through the creation of curricula suited to the needs identified and tailor-made - develop the key and professional skills of migrants, through training courses for work inclusion - implement and disseminate the use of the EU Blue Card, through the production of Guidelines on the procedures for issuing and using it by the various Member States - increase the ability of employers and qualified migrants to access and use the EU Blue Card, through the construction and use of the Job&Intercultural App.
The migration phenomenon is one of the most important challenges. A healthy and fair system of Migration management involves ensuring that those who are legally in the EU can contribute to the well-being, prosperity and cohesion of societies. The inclusion of migrants is a key element of the EU Agenda of the Commission, which has completed the reform of the EU Directives on the Blue Card by publishing Directive (EU) 2021/1883 in October 2021. All EU countries and Italy with the Legislative Decree of 18/10/2023, have implemented this directive by defining the conditions of entry and residence of foreign citizens who intend to carry out highly qualified work in a Member State. The EU, in a post-pandemic context that has amplified inequalities and highlighted labor shortages, must insist on the intercultural educational phenomenon and make inclusion measures adequate to current and future needs. INTERC.Lab fits into this context to build effective practices of inclusion, with the development of key skills of migrants and intercultural skills of employers that, combined with tools for access to the EU Blue Card and matching between job supply and demand, promote civil coexistence.
