The main purpose of the AM-TE@CH project was to design and to implement innovative training on Additive Manufacturing for C-VET trainers to develop specific competences in AM for the manufacturing sector and support continuous professional development. By providing trainers with high-quality educational materials and tools that will enable them to enhance their skills, also the final recipients of the learning pathway, i.e., managers, purchasers, designers, process engineers working in the manufacturing sector, benefited and will benefit from this project. To this end, the objectives of the project were to: - provide trainers with a high-quality and innovative online training course; - enable trainers to have the competences to train learners in the field of AM; - promote technical and digital skills development; - work in a digital and innovative learning environment.
The Consortium applied for this project to provide Continuous Vocational Education Trainers with an effective training method to develop specific skills in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM) for the manufacturing sector. AM is one of the main new technologies that will make Industry 4.0 possible. Therefore, it has become of utmost importance to upgrade professionals and provide them with the necessary skills in this field. On this basis, the Consortium, through the AM-TE@CH project, responded to the following needs: - overcome SMEs' skills mismatch in the field of AM; - strengthen SMEs' preparedness toward digital transformation; - strengthen trainers' skills so that they have the necessary competences to train workers; - increase Continuous Vocational Education and Training offer in the field of AM; - train manufacturing employees to adopt new production techniques.
