The objectives of the SIMPL4ALL project were the following: • inclusion, equal opportunities and non-discrimination; • new methods and approaches to learning and teaching. The SIMPL4ALL partnership, to achieve them, focused on: • creating accessible teaching tools and materials adapted to the characteristics, methods and speed of learning of each person; • encouraging the participation and protagonism of learners; • developing enabling skills in 'inclusive learning mediators' and non-formal contexts (=outside school!). • promoting the collaboration of end-users in constructing "tailor-made" learning materials.
The project met the needs of two target groups: -young people, mainly between 14 and 21 years of age, in conditions of disability, disadvantage or difficulty that prevent their personal and professional fulfilment -professionals in inclusive education or learning mediation. The addressed needs have been 1. Overcome the obstacles that prevent people from contributing with their resources and abilities in different community contexts. 2. Promote the sense of belonging, valuing diversity, equity and inclusion. SIMPL4ALL, reversing the paradigm of SPECIAL EDUCATION, claims that not the needs, but the PEOPLE are SPECIAL. Using a SIMPLIFIED LANGUAGE 4ALL, we implemented three interventions: 1. Upskilling and reskilling for teaching and support staff, with more participatory methodologies and the enhancement of "learning mediators". We worked on new methods and techniques embracing the Position Paper on Inclusive Education Systems of the European Agency for Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education. 2. Digital promotion through open, accessible and inclusive "user-centred" resources, enhancing the IT potential for teaching/learning. 3. Fostering networking with public services, associations and families.
