There were three objectives set in the #SUPPORT_ME project and they were all achieved through the planned transnational mobilities. After a careful assessment of the association's internal needs, the following objectives were identified: - to support the innovation of methodologies used in the field of inclusion of people with disabilities, to learn new fundraising and dissemination techniques and to improve the transversal skills of the staff (ICT and English language) - share the methodologies used by La Tartaruga's staff with new European realities working in the same field - internationalise the association's activities and carry out awareness-raising activities towards the local and European community on the importance of social inclusion of people with disabilities. Thanks to the #SUPPORT_ME projectLa Tartaruga undertook actions at the international level and will continue to plan them in the future in order to raise awareness on the importance of social inclusion of people with disabilities not only in the local and national community but also in the European community. Furthermore, the exchange of good practices at the European level allows for more growth and innovation, with the adoption of new approaches and tools.
'La Tartaruga ONLUS' is a non-profit organisation whose purpose is social and socio-health assistance in favour of persons affected by various pathologies with consequent motor difficulties and/or sensory and cognitive disabilities, with particular regard to minors with serious disabling pathologies. The activities of La Tartaruga involve the territory and, in synergy with local public bodies and private subjects, initiatives and projects are implemented to disseminate good practices and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. The #SUPPORT_ME project is part of a broader, international context. La Tartaruga Onlus has always aimed to expand its local boundaries and go beyond them, for a greater comparison with similar realities in different European countries. This openness has made it possible to share and learn methodologies and tools for better inclusion of people with disabilities and to improve various transversal skills. The project thus started an important process of internationalisation of its activities, laying a solid foundation for future European projects.
