Objectives

In line with the priorities described in the PTOF 2019/2022 and in the RAV, the Institute intended to pursue through "Scuola Al Passo - S.A.P." the following objectives: to train teachers on innovative methodologies capable of increasing motivation and active participation, promoting inclusion (also with digital tools) and improving students' language skills; improve the teachers' ability to evaluate students' transversal skills, in order to be able to define more effective educational plans and improve the design of vertical curricula; train ATA staff to contribute to the dematerialization and digitization of school documentation and practices, functional to a leaner and more effective administration; strengthen the Institute's image as a "School of innovation" and establish a more open and fruitful dialogue with families and institutions for the benefit of the entire educational community.

Background

The IC A. Gatto is structured in 3 school orders, has over 1200 students and 200 employees. The complexity of the comprehensive institute and the heterogeneity of the school population, which includes 6% of students with SEN and 4% of non-Italian nationality students, requires adequate teaching and management skills to guarantee the quality and effectiveness of the Educational Offer. The COVID19 pandemic has also transformed the world of school, forcing the DAD which requires organizational, and digital skills. In the phase prior to the implementation of "S.A.P.- Scuola Al Passo" despite the reference PTOF revealing the experimentation of innovative teaching methodologies, the teaching staff did not have sufficient experience and skills to be able to guide a real change of the Institute towards greater innovation and effectiveness. The Institute has therefore started a process of dematerialization of the administration to optimize the management and archiving of documents.
