The first objective of the project was above all to enhance the inclusive practice in our institute in teachers with respect to two main macro-areas: through the creation of laboratories of an artistic-literary nature, with attention to the linguistic aspect and through activities on the STEAM disciplines, with laboratories of a scientific and technological nature. The second objective was to increase our teaching skills according to a multicultural approach given the presence of pupils of foreign origin in our school (about 13%), also learning innovative and more inclusive teaching strategies towards students with special educational needs ( about 6% of pupils in our institution). The transversal objective was naturally the linguistic one, so that more teachers belonging to the different school levels could deepen and naturally improve their skills in English. Finally, we wanted to increase the European dimension of our school by making the Erasmus+ program known to more teachers who were able to relate to other foreign colleagues in anticipation of new projects in Europe.
Our school includes kindergarten, primary and lower secondary schools. The project was born to involve all three orders and in particular the teachers through training courses abroad (particularly in Spain, since the bilingualism course offers Spanish as a second language) so that some specific activities of our school reality, aimed at increasing inclusion in a wider perspective than the local one, both of a scientific nature (STEAM disciplines) and of a linguistic and literary nature. At the same time as this project, another partnership project KA229 aimed at lower secondary school students was carried out, focusing on similar topics such as reading and science disciplines, therefore the teacher training offered by this project meant that the activities take place in parallel. In addition, this last project has extended participation in the Erasmus+ program to primary and childhood colleagues as well, with a view to didactic continuity and collaboration between the three levels that we certainly wanted to strengthen through new shared activities.
