Objectives

The project was the result of the intention to go on with the Europeanization and internationalization of our students in their daily life . We have considered that to open our students to a path of international studies the teaching and non teaching staff of our school should be a good example and join this process of internationalization .For this reason we have considered that a good resolution could be improving the language , digital and methodological competences of the teaching and non teaching staff in a European dimension . The main idea was to reinforce the Euopean citizenship of the teachers to disseminate this principle to students and let them reason and move in a European dimension following their teachers ready to widen and improve their competences beyond the limits of their own school . The main goal had been to push the teaching and non teaching staff to create European relationships to transmit this heritage to their students .

Background

The Technical Institute " Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa" is situated in the little town of Afragola , 12 kms from Naples , in the south of Italy . The institute provides five different school curricula , Building Surveyors , Graphics , ICT and Telecommunications , Computer Maintenance and Robotics and next year a new curriculum will be introduced , Fashion and Made in Italy . Most of the students come from humble and economically disadvantaged families whose only opportunity to travel abroad was given by the international projects given to our school . The school is situated to the north of Naples , where the unemployment rate of young people is very high and where the risk of school dropping is very high too and where the underground economy is often a parallel one , leading many young people to become victims of microcriminality for lack of economic opportunities .
