Objectives

Searching for the influence of different cultures on the development of local communities, making students realize the impact their cultural background has on their future. Value the importance of learning and communicating in a foreign language and students with special needs and disadvantaged situations have the opportunity to visit other countries. Promote the internationalization of our schools, involving our students, communities and public institutions in activities that will disseminate the results of our partnership. Encourage children and teachers to make use of Technologies for Learning and Knowledge.

Background

Our school is located in a town with 180000 inhabitants. The Don Roberto Angeli Comprehensive Institute is made up of 7 schools and hosts children from 3 to 14 years old. The institute is located in the northern area of the city of Livorno. These are neighborhoods in which the economic structures and commercial activities are mainly autonomous and familyrun. The unemployment rate is high, in the prevalent presence of dependent and precarious work, even if there is a slow but progressive improvement in the quality of life, even in the weakest socio-cultural groups. The main motivation of the project is to try to offer our students new opportunities to grow and to help teachers to use new methodologies. For us it is important not only to use the new methodological paradigms based on the acquisition of skills but also to relate heritage with educational innovation, achieving meaningful learning in the context of students.
