Objectives

The objectives of the project were: - to promote the European dimension of teaching and learning through constructive comparison with teachers of other schools of the same level, the exchange of job shadowing experiences and good practices - to foster cooperation and the exchange of good practices with other European schools, creating a network of contacts both with schools and with training and higher education institutions in Europe and develop materials that can be used in different disciplinary fields - to promote a reflection at school level on the training and methodological needs of students in an increasingly internationalized and hyper-connected world, so that they can leave school able to face the university and working world with the most suitable tools to decode the reality of the XXI century. - to strengthen the teaching of transversal competences and skills necessary for employability in a trans-curricular key: foreign languages, teamwork skills, spirit of initiative, critical thinking and conscious use of new technologies, by comparing teaching methodologies for the development of applied skills in other European schools.

Background

Liceo Aristotele is located in the southern suburbs of the city of Rome and receives a very varied clientele both from a cultural and economic point of view. Most of the families are of middle-class extraction but there are situations of social hardship and at risk of dropping out of school. The school has therefore always tried to create a dynamic and welcoming environment, open every day both in the morning and in the afternoon, where children can meet in a safe and stimulating place to be together and to learn not only school subjects, but also to learn skills and expressive techniques (linguistic, IT, artistic, musical) that enrich the educational offer of the school. There are currently 48 classes in the school for a total of about 1100 pupils (from 14 to 19 years of age) and 90 teachers, but the requests from middle schools lead us to foresee a substantial increase in users, especially as regards bilingual classes.
