In the last two years, the IC "Maneri - Ingrassia - Don Milani" has united two different institutions with many years of experience; it consists of 4 complexes. The school includes 17 Kindergarten sections, 30 Primary classes and 28 Lower Secondary classes, for a total of about 1300 students and over 200 staff units between teachers and ATA. It is a first cycle school with a high incidence of problematic situations as it is inserted in a context characterized by socio-environmental degradation, socio-cultural disadvantage, high rate of juvenile delinquency and "scholastic malaise" (phenomena of educational failure). There are numerous pupils identified with SEN, either because they have a certified DSA or because they come from extremely degraded environments. The Lower Secondary School has a musical orientation and the requests of the families also allow the activation of a CLIL teaching every year. As evidenced by the PTOF, the school undertakes to create conditions for the equality of those who come from family situations/deprived environments for the prevention and fight against the phenomenon of early school leaving, with particular attention to music and a foreign language.
