The "Artists of Inclusion" project aimed to achieve goals in four areas of intervention: experiential and international education, integration, key skills, and career guidance. The main objective was to enhance the internationalisation of the school through foreign language teaching, cultural exchanges, and international mobility. Despite limited resources, the project also addressed the integration of students from different ethnicities and with special needs. It aimed to develop key skills for European citizenship, surpassing the traditional approach to teaching. Lastly, the project focused on guiding high school students towards study and career opportunities in the artistic and cultural sector, providing them with concrete examples of employment and legal and economic-financial knowledge for self-entrepreneurship. The overall goal of the project was to promote international education, integration, the development of key skills, and effective career guidance for students in the artistic high school, preparing them for their academic and professional futures.
The "Mameli-Magnini" Comprehensive Institute in Deruta was founded in 2012 after the merger of two schools: the "Mameli" Comprehensive Institute and the "Alpinolo Magnini" Artistic High School. The school has approximately 1000 students, 130 teachers, and 40 staff members. It offers high-quality educational programs, with a special focus on art and the ceramic tradition of the region. The students mainly come from the province of Perugia, with a medium-low socio-economic background. A significant percentage of students have special educational needs or come from disadvantaged families. The school promotes inclusion and seeks to inspire students through cultural initiatives.
