Objectives

We developed better inclusive practices and an innovative management of learning spaces. We tried to improve school results for students with Special Needs and with any kind of disadvantage problem. We started to provide for every student a customized program, that is in harmony with his/her learning rhythm.

Background

Starting from the needs of our institute, as mentioned in our PTOF (piano triennale dell'offerta formativa - triennal plan for formative offer) and as they emerged from the results of the improvement plan, we implemented an action-research, for a better understanding of the inclusion processes already in place and for a more effective management of the learning spaces, with the aim of reducing social, economic and cultural barriers and the dynamics of discrimination. The job-shadowing experience has proven to be fundamental, because it allowed our school to compare itself with actions implemented in this same direction by the hosting schools. The observation experience was shared with our teachers in order to elaborate together strategies for future action in the various educational grades (kindergarten, primary and lower secondary school). Some of the innovative ideas that emerged from the discussion with the host schools, from which we were able to draw inspiration, have been published and shared in the padlet built with our European colleagues and in the "Dissemination" section of the blog created to tell the experience: https://padlet.com/lucia_fabrizi/changemakers https://jobshadowing.news.blog/disseminazione/
