Objectives

Objective 1 Increasing students' success and reducing early school leaving: reaching the average national rate of 79.6% of students admitted to the three-year period . Objective 2: improving CLIL skills of the teachers in our institution: The objective was to obtain a greater number of qualified CLIL teachers and a significant number of teaching modules to be offered to sudents. Objective 3: Developing active citizenship skills, European citizenship and sustainable development. As part of our PCTO ( experience in a virtual trainiing company) for third classes , our goal was to design an ESCO (Energy Service Company) to significantly reduce polluting and Co2 emissions, following the dictates of Agenda 2030. In addition to this project, our intention was to activate micro-projects involving all disciplines and aimed at developing an "eco-friendly attitude". Objective 4: increasing the number of teachers using digital learning platforms to encourage students to think critically, to solve problems and to approach challenges from a technological perspective.

Background

Our school is an Industrial Technical Institute. We have the following courses: Mechanics and Mechatronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Materials and Biotechnology. The analysis of outcomes and school results carried out in the Self-Assessment Report highlights how our school is to be considered rather selective especially in the first three years. Therefore we need to acquire innovative teaching methods, provide opportunities for professional development, and foster the exchange of best practices in order to reduce the percentage of students who are not admitted. Another aspect that needs to be improved within our school is to increase the number of teachers able to carry out teaching modules with the CLIL methodology. The third challenge concerns raising a deeper awareness of the whole school community to adopt concrete measures for tackling climate change . Our fourth priority concerns the development of digital skills by students and teachers, to meet the ever-increasing need for a more use of technology for educational purposes.
