The University of Milan (UNIMI) strongly supports the Erasmus+ Programme as a core actor in its internationalisation strategy. KA131 represents one of the main actions and thousands of students, trainees and staff benefit from it every year. The advantages of spending part of one’s studies, internship or career abroad are already widely recognised. With the new programme 2021/2027 several new notions have been introduced. Because of this, apart from confirming the undeniable benefits of going abroad, the main goal the University of Milan wanted to accomplish was to stress the importance of new values among its participants. Thanks to the commitments made under ECHE, the aim was to embrace inclusion and diversity within the project, opening the programme to as many participants as possible, by providing additional support and by thinking of new ways to tackle any issues that could prevent one’s participation. Furthermore, other pillars were linked to the environment, digital transition, language learning, civic engagement and promotion of new forms of mobility, such as BIPs. Another goal was to create new partnerships, strengthen existing ones and increase mobility exchange within our European University (4EU+ Alliance).
