In Italy, young people, a valuable resource in demographic decline, are not adequately valued economically. In 2022, Italy's recent graduates aged 20-34 reached a record 82% employment rate, a 7% increase since 2014, and the gender gap narrowed to 2%. However, Italy has the lowest employment rate among recent graduates in the EU (65%), signalling an economic weakness with demand for unskilled jobs. The EU4EU Italy Consortium aims to facilitate the transition from education to employment in an international context, offering work opportunities for young graduates both in Italy and abroad. The organised internships provide experience and contacts, moving towards a more inclusive and digital approach. Part of a European network of EU4EU Consortia, including France, Spain and Portugal, the Consortium collaborates at national level in accordance with Erasmus+ guidelines, sharing good practices, using common software and a structured database of Host Organisations.
