The transition to the digital age requires structural changes in the services that are offered to the citizen, but an important focus is the skills necessary for all citizens to use the available means correctly, safely and effectively. This was the motivation behind the preparation of the project aimed at improving the digital skills and knowledge of young adults and adults, with a view to proper inclusion in the labor market and conscious use of digital means.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, education and training institutions around the world have had to innovate to ensure continuity of education, especially that of adult education. All countries were creating online environments, to further promote and explore some existing materials and the tools to create them. In most cases, these focus exclusively on theoretical knowledge. The organizations involved were concerned that adults, as a result of the pandemic, have seen the generation gap widen and that, in a still uncertain digital transition phase, they may fall behind young people who are more ready to take advantage of the benefits of technology in every area of social and professional life.
