Background

The main aim of our project was to develop students’ metacognition, which is cognition about cognition, while they expanded core knowledge and skills. It was important for students to understand the learning process and how the assimilated knowledge could be used to help them better face the Innovation Age which demanded lifelong learning, adaptability to the unexpected and creativity in finding solutions to unmet needs. This project was a call for educational actors to innovate. The cooperation with EU peers helped participants to see how others see, face and solve similar issues, what areas should be exploited for a better integration on the global job market, what opportunities were used to expand job-related skills and other methods or tools used in schools to help students to meet the 21st century demands. Teachers acted as key persons cooperating with students expanding and internationalizing together the school curricula.
