Objectives

The EUMind-School project was born out of an awareness of the importance of training the professionals of the next generation in the field of European projects designing, planning and drafting, with the concrete objective of creating a permanent platform, equipped with our innovative and digital Toolkit, for teachers and school staff in secondary schools. The EUMind-School project aimed to: Generate a new awareness in high school teachers on the value and opportunities associated with European projects - To improve the level of knowledge and competence on European planning already starting from high school Encourage active teaching through innovative teaching methodologies based on Design Thinking - To encourage interactions between schools in joint initiatives at transnational level upon shared innovation and educational needs.

Background

The EUMind-School project was born from an awareness of the importance of training the next generation of professionals in European project design, for two main reasons - as of today, the European projects designer is a professional figure widely in demand, both in the public and private sectors; - knowledge of the tools and methodologies underlying European projects design inevitably entails a change of mentality in the persons trained: it opens the mind, allows to analyse the complexity of reality, facilitates multidisciplinarity, aims at effectiveness, transparency and feasibility. This is why it is essential to transfer these skills. Thanks to the close cooperation between the project partners and the network of schools it has been working with for years, the main needs identified that we have addressed during the project were - Bridging the gap between the relevance of European design and the demand for specific skills related to it in the world of work, and the curricula in EU high schools - Strengthening and updating high school teachers' European design skills - Facilitating integration between teachers of different subjects - Modernising and internationalising high school studies.
