The objectives of the project encompassed a comprehensive approach to addressing the gaps and challenges in entrepreneurial education within higher education institutions. By creating a network of multidisciplinary educators and change-makers, the project aimed to drive the development of curricula and pedagogies geared towards enhancing students' employability and innovation skills, aligning with the European Skills Agenda and other pertinent frameworks. Through activities such as the development of self-assessment tools, training materials, and dissemination events, the project sought to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to foster entrepreneurial mindset and innovative teaching practices across various disciplines. Additionally, the project aimed to support the transferability of innovative education practices, develop assessment criteria for profiling entrepreneurial educators, and cultivate more innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems within higher education institutions.
We applied for this project to address critical needs in entrepreneurial education within higher education institutions. Recognizing the importance of embedding entrepreneurial values across disciplines and educational levels, as highlighted by frameworks such as the European Skills Agenda and OECD reports, we aimed to bridge the gap in expertise among academic staff, particularly in employing innovative teaching methods. Moreover, our project was moved by the evidence of a lack of understanding among academic educators of how to design and deliver innovative pedagogies and curricula relevant to the market, along with challenges in effectively engaging with businesses for educational purposes. Finally, we aimed to address the distinct lack of support for developing entrepreneurial educational change-makers and a scarcity of replicable cross-disciplinary entrepreneurial pedagogies characterizing the HEi system nowadays. Through this project, we aimed to innovate higher education curricula, empower educators with entrepreneurial skills and tools, and foster more innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystems within academia to better prepare students for future challenges.
